÷ NETWORK STORAGE & ACCESS
DCR systems can be used as a fully functioning stand-alone system to view and produce evidence on removable
media such as USB devices, optical discs and printed media. Systems can also be connected to a network to form part
of a centralised image and video repository. The built-in Case Management facility allows multiple systems to store
evidence digitally without the need to produce physical media. The stored evidence is in a consistent and uniform format
and can be readily accessed and viewed by users with relevant network permissions using a standard PC running Windows
media player. Case folders with images and video can also be exported to USB devices for instances where required.
An optional program, VideoSAFE Viewer allows searching on meta data such as Case & Exhibit reference captured during
the initial viewing. Entry of Case and Exhibit reference and other data is mandatory for DCR users.

÷ NETWORK ACCESS
Digital evidential files can be accessed directly on the network via a live connection or case folders may be copied to
optical discs or USB removable devices if a live network connection is not available at the desired location.
Digital case files are easier to handle, store, faster to distribute and can offer increased security and reduced cost
compared to the production of multiple physical copies of evidence.
Even if used just at a local level in for example, a custody environment, video evidence could be made immediately
available for interview using a laptop or fixed PC with a suitable wi-fi or ethernet connection to the central store.
A single 1TB USB HDD can hold over 200 DVD’s of data, equivalent to about 600 hours of video from DCR.
